Seems we have all had similar experiences. Hey Don, send me the number you call to cancel. I want to see if they offer the same for me. My luck, they will just up and cancel and I will incur the wrath of the wife.

I've had Sirius in my Prius since I got it. I kept it for a while since I found the traffic stations useful on my trips back and forth to Boston and Philadelphia, but getting a GPS mooted that. Now every time I try to cancel, they offer me free months. I don't think I've paid in more than a year. Which is fine with me; I haven't enjoyed the music programming since the merger.

Eventually the gravy train will come to an end, and I'll cancel, but while it lasts, I'll enjoy listening to the compressed to hell Boneyard.

Totally agreed that XM's programming compared to most FM stations is superior. I only listen to NPR, XPN, and a little 1460AM when I choose radio. I usually try to have my podcast-filled Nano 1G with me to listen to.

I totally agree, although we have a subscription in our Honda Odyssey. My wife loves it and I will say that compared to any programming on the FM dial with a possible exception of XPN ( But they can even be a drag at times ) I can see the allure. When I get into the van I listen to E Street Radio usually, now I rarely drive the van, but when I do it is nice for me to turn on something where I can just sit and listen to some rare recordings of Bruce Springsteen without listening to the local car dealer scream at me with increased volume. That being said, if it were just me, I would never pay for it. It is something I do because my wife enjoys. Without a doubt the sound quality does not match what you get with FM/CD/MP3. The draw is indeed the convenience, metadata and variety.

I have done Rite Aid rebates for over a year. Yes, they are deceptive and I am going to stop going there for anything. I have had problems with them on several occasions and had to mail copies of my receipt as well as the actual ad to get the rebate. Today (11-16-09) check says "not enough items purchased", because of past problems I make sure I do everything EXACTLY as required. Also, unless you get to store really early the first day of the sale no items are available as my store only carries a very few of the sale(rebate) items.

One more question and this one will be asked on the podcast. Bigger thrill, holding the Calder Cup or the Brutal Deluxe Football League Trophy at this years draft?

This begs the question - how did the Calder Cup end up in your office? I mean, besides the obvious that the Bears are the defending champs and all...
